Southport is a beautiful setting for a summer wedding. Kelly and Matt decided to have their wedding at the Scarisbrick Hotel in Southport on Lord Street. The Scarisbrick is a classic hotel with a traditional interior. A beautiful choice of wedding venue but there are also plenty of opportunities for wedding photography in Southport itself, especially on a bright sunny day. I’ll be at the Wedding Show at Liverpool’s Crowne Plaza Hotel in the City Centre on Sunday 26th February 2012. A great day out for all brides to be. There will be lots of exhibitors showcasing all sorts of possibilities for your wedding. Take inspiration and find out more about local wedding services. Alicia Hotel Wedding Photography, Sefton Park, Liverpool
Here is a selection of my wedding photographs that I took at the wedding of Mike and Julie at the Alicia Hotel in Sefton Park Liverpool. Their wedding was set out beautifully and as the rain failed to showcase an appearance they decided to have their wedding outside. The Alicia Hotel has a beautiful setup for both indoor and outdoor weddings and the staff know how to look after the bride and groom. All the wedding guests enjoyed the outdoor ceremony and all the shots were captured very naturally. Take a look below at some of the photographs from the day below.

The forcast was grey, cloudy and it stayed bright and dry, the perfect recipe for some lovely wedding photographs and for a beautiful wedding day for Matt and Helen. Congratulations. The sky was a little dull today but it stayed dry which is the main thing. A beautiful wedding day and I have to say the wedding ceremony was very nicely conducted. A warm and bright ceremony room made for some really great photographs of the wedding service. The day moved from St Martin’s Church in Kirkby to the evening reception at Maghull Town Hall. I’ve posted two photographs from the days events below.

What a beautiful day it turned out to be for todays wedding with Carol and Joey at Elm Hall Drive Methodist Church in Liverpool, and then onto the Crowne Plaza in Speke Liverpool. A late summer heat wave in september made todays wedding photography in liverpool, really colourful and vibrant. New blog for 2012.
The wedding season for 2011 has been a huge success and there are many happy Groom’s and Brides with a beautiful collection of wedding photographs from their special day. We hope every one of our clients enjoys their photographs and I would like to thank everyone who chose Chris Hickey Photography for their special day, it’s been a pleasure.
I’ve decided to update my blog for a change, don’t do this often enough. I haven’t been as consistent with my blog as perhaps I could have been, instead I’ve been posting all the updates on facebook and twitter. So I’ve created this new blog in order to keep all the news updates on the website too. If you want to see the latest wedding album designs or latest photography deals keep up to date here as this is where it will all be revealed. I can’t wait to start posting all the latest wedding photography for you view.
I’m working on some new wedding photography packages for 2012. It’s going to be easier to understand and more flexible to your particular needs. Looking forward to finalising the details on these and preparing all the sample albums for 2012/2013. I’ll be visiting some local wedding fairs in 2012 around the liverpool wedding area. I’ll post the information on the website as soon as this is all confirmed.

It was a beautiful day, the weather was stormy and grey all over liverpool but the sun was shining for most of the day while at Jason and Lorraine’s wedding at Mere Court Hotel. This venue is definatley one for upcoming brides to be to think about. The grounds around the hotel offer some really amazing photography opportunities. I managed to get some cracking photo’s on the banks of the lake with rippling reflections in the water. Croxteth Hall in Liverpool is a stunning venue for weddings, both inside and out. It’s great for photography, even the ceremony rooms are full of character and large windows with plenty of light. Best part about wedding photography at Croxteth Hall is all the possible locations within the building itself. Plenty of locations for beautiful portrait shots of the bride and groom. Anfield Stadium Wedding, Liverpool Football Club
Im not a huge football fan, I watch the occaisonal world cup match every four years or so, but I have to say that I enjoyed Mandy & Peter’s wedding at Anfield Stadium, Liverpool Football Club. There were far too many photo opportunities for one day. I captured some really beautiful shots overlooking the pitch and the kop stand. Some fun wedding photography next to Liverpool’s 5th Champoins League Trophy. It was a really impressive day and I know Mandy & Peter enjoyed it also. Here are some photo’s from the day below.

New Wedding Storybook Albums for 2011

I’ve changed my wedding photography packages over the last few months and I’ve been ordering new sample albums for these new 2011 photography packages. The reason for all these changes is because since I started wedding photography in 2007 there has been an increasing number of people looking for Digital Storybook style albums rather than the more Traditional Overlay albums. Traditional albums will always be very popular especialy the Mario Acerboni range of premium leather style albums.
I’ve always offered the basic coffee table style storybooks with my packages. They are excellent value for money and a great keepsake for your photographs. For those of you who would prefer an album style wedding storybook then these new Premium Storybooks are for you. I say new, but I’ve been offering these from the middle of January 2011 but the new sample albums should be with me by the beginning of March.

NEWS: Plans to change Wedding Laws to allow 24 hour wedding services

The Government are planning to allow night time weddings. This change in legislation will allow marriages to take place 24 hours a day in both England and Wales. The changes are part of the Protection Of Freedoms Bill and these changes apply to civil and religious ceremonies.
The current regulation on marriages only allow couples to wed between 0800 and 1800. Home Office minister James Brokenshire said: “If you want a midnight service you can. That’s the whole point of us providing that flexibility.”
The Catholic Church has however said it would not carry out late night ceremonies. The Church of England said: “Canon Law dictates that a marriage may only be solemnised between 8am and 6pm and not at any unseasonable hour.”
This is great news for engaged couples who can have a little more flexibility with their wedding plans. Night time weddings should prove quite popular especially in the Summer Months.

Photography Styles and Confusion?
You may have heard the terms Reportage, Photo Journalism, Traditional and Candid wedding photography styles, however you may be puzzled as to what the differences are between each style.
When it comes to Wedding Photography it’s always good to understand the differences so you know what to expect from the different photographers out there. Some photographers will often offer a mixture of these styles and capture different elements of your wedding day in different ways. Other photographers will capture your day in a certain style of their own. Always discuss wedding photography styles with your chosen photographer to establish the style of photographs that you would like your special day to be captured in.
